Cyprus and no air transport

Hi,

dont really know if this can be described as a bug, but when you are new to the game and you start on cyprus, you cant get away from this island, cause of the lack of air transport.

maybe its intended this way.

I have played with someone who started in cyprus and had the same problem as you.

This is not really a bug, just not the best place to start when you have no air transports . But I guess we either have to make air transports available to all players from the beginning, or make Nicosia the port city, so you could escape from it on a sea transport.

In real life, Amok is also trapped on Cyprus, because he hasn't unlocked Air Transports yet

No need. Not every uncomfortable situation needs to be fixed. It might be good however, to be able to visually distinguish between port and non-port cities.

Like a little Anchor Icon for port cities instead of a circle? Of course than how do you indicate Capital Port Cities....Anchor+Star??? BOLDER Anchor? Hmmmm....

Would these different icons make the board more confusing?

I don't think the icon is all that necessary. There are very few cases when a city near the shore is not actually a port, and they can be memorized pretty quickly.

Yes, but this unnecessarily steepens the learning curve. No need for an icon, but perhaps a note 'Port city' when you click on one would be appropriate?

Then you click on a city, it is very likely, that this is a port, if you can build Destroyers, also, if you can't build em, it is almoust certain - this city is not a port.

Ummm I think this bug is fixed now cuz I built destroyers out of cyprus...

Really? That's news to me, I remember Nicosia used to be a landlock city as it is in real life.

Wierd, Nicosia is definitely is landlocked, every time i start in turkey i have to remember to take it because of late joiners.

Anyway, you could always add Limassol as a port city

That's not possible, since it's not a port city.

Glitch, then... All I know is that the one game I played from cyprus, I was able to build destroyers...
