All will vote aetius but if there wasn't pyrrhus we would have all these aetius maps. This combo has made so many good maps about every historical period. They would continue if half of them didn't get bugged and AW map maker was half decent.

A weird opinion from me but I'd say best map maker would be Talos, pretty much all his maps have ridiculous amounts of plays and are quite the standard quality. If it came down to scenarios... then it's the duo of Aetius & Pyrrhus.

i think its fairly obvious why he included them due to the number of plays their maps have.

The "plays" argument is such broken and stupid argument for many reasons, for one being if a game fails it still counts as a play, so if you remove all the failed plays it'll significantly reduce the number of plays it has so that's not accurate figure to even go off of.
Also none of them have even touched a lot of these maps prior to the implementation of the banlist feature so take in account the amount of failed games because of people deciding to leave t1 to troll, not just games that failed because of hosts dc'ing/people not having time to play.

Then consider how much of their most popular maps are played in the current day, which is probably not many of the entirety of the maps they all collectively own. How does any of that fit current day AW? I could argue my ww1 scenario has more plays than thecommunist's and pulse's most played scenarios but that doesn't make for a valid argument if the map is dead as fuck in current day.

Plays is a pathetic argument, especially because it only indicates how long a map has been up. It indicates not much about the quality.

Not sure why you said this, never have I said I was upset i wasn't here I was just making a point how half of them aren't even map makers anymore and none of it really makes sense. If I were trying to talk about map makers with most popular maps then what about the Cronus who has a 5k+ played UN, Tik-Tok?, Camel?(People still play his colonial daily so why's he not even here lol) zombiekiller, bellerophon, are they all just chopped liver apparently? Some of these map makers' maps actually made an impact on the game because UN was a super popular genre that influenced the game, I don't see why cronus was left out of this if that was the case. I'm just simply stating why it doesn't make much sense

I think those people to you are very inspiring(I agree with most of them too) but maybe this list to him are people that were inspiring to him. Who are we to argue who's opinion is more relevant because at the end of the day they're just opinions and not factual proof for anything. I think if everyone made their own lists then none would be 100% the same, for me personally lotar luis97 is who inspired me to make maps and Garde is who taught me how to refine my talents but I doubt they would be considered on your list right ? If you're upset that your talents have been overlooked by this man who probably doesn't know you then I think you should use it as motive to start working on projects again to spread your name among the community.

i was pointing out that the pollmaker and u have different criteria on what u guys consider the top mapmakers which is clearly obvious on who he put on the post , obv they are bad arguments if u have different views on what makes a mapmaker 'the best' . honestly this whole convo is irrelevant since Aetius +Pyrrhus will get the lion shares of the votes anyway no matter which of your 'influential map makers' u want on the list , since this is essentially a POPULARITY contest which ive explained earlier.

I was going to mention grade and lotarluis and hellykin but obv they weren't quite as popular as tunder, tik-tok etc. that's why I didn't mention them in the original criticism. But they were definitely influential map makers.
