I have long thought over-population was a serious global problem, perhaps the most serious. This guy is fairly entertaining as researchers go, so there's a bit of humour mixed in, but i think this is an elegant message that perhaps we won't all end up killing each other in some religious end game war... thoughts or comments or flaws in the logic?

Are you trying to compete with me now? I'll reck you, Lil n00b scrub! Religion is losing its influence on how society runs and no major wars will happen anytime soon(Just proxy wars) we'll be soon on Mars, or the moon with private companies having more influence in space than our own governments, most likely. (If not, 100% the colonial wars will happen again. Probably even Portugal and Spain might be leading the way again. Who knows.) For overpopulation, that would be up the India, China and some countries in Africa to fix. The west seems okay I think. We'll also will be living in our 100s soon too, so maybe the west might have a elderly population problem rather than a young population problem?

1. No point of reaching Mars and other planets if our people will be damaged with mental problems, it will be shallow technology. 2. The day private companies gain more influence than governments, it's the day not only population shrink, but world collapse. Governments must check and regulate companies, or else you gonna end up with poop and pee in your tooth paste and food (Germany once found horse sperm in children products). Without production regulation, there is no one to stop companies reducing quality of their products in order to achieve more profits. They will ruin nature, people, climate, everything.

Elon musk and his companies are doing more work towards colonialism than our governments rn. Usa talking about a space force too. It sounds stupid, but why won't it happen? It happened with the americas, governments and private companies domated the lands, why not with these planets too? Although you are right with the companies, I actually don't think they'll have more influence, but definitely a lot.

Companies also started first colonization, like East Indian Company, and East Dutch Company which was the richest company at a time, it would still be, and still remains 1# by worth, unbeatable. We can't colonize Moon and reach Mars if our societies collapse. And we are on the brink of collapse: PC culture, acceptance of mental disorders, free migration, supress of cultures and religion, economic liberalization.

Less money? What year are you living in. Because its definitely not 2019. We have way more money and opportunities than our parents and any other civilization before us. Both of us are communicating on the Internet and we both bought this game... Our parents didn't have that. All the other stuff you said wasn't good enough either. I could say the same about humanity 40 years ago too. Humans have always had stupid leaders, always were damaging nature and always had crime.

Blaming immigrants "Fr tkn eooorr Juobz" isn't a good argument. As them immigrants take the low paying, shity jobs that the natives don't want to do I.e food production and Hotels, leading to the country's economy going up. For "Robots" taking our jobs, not necessarily. Obviously machines, not actual robots are being implemented into the work place, but they themselves also cost lots of money and are not efficient, Depending on the job tbh. Phones are not "Just" enough and the Internet is not "Just" the Internet, it's way more. We are also living in our 100s. Not trying to insult you, but what age are you? We aren't going backwards, only forwards, you brain-damaged luddites. Technological progress and economic growth is the pursuit of modern society, we must adapt. Progress cannot be made without causing rapid changes in all other aspects of society. The breakdown of traditional values implies the breakdown of the bonds which held small and local communities together; people have incentive to move for employment. Population will increase, but according to mathematics, the population will cap out at around 11 billion people because the rates of newborns and deaths will taper off. Conditions will get better for this population base, and we must embrace change while at the same time embracing the values which made society prosperous in the first place, including free markets and the freedoms that are derived from our natural rights. This means immigration as it was before 1914, before public benefits transformed these newcomers from net benefits to net costs to my country.

Seems i must reply because Tik-Tok is not here: Your country banned non-white immigration and sent black people back to Africa while it was prospering. Now you want to emulate this but with whites becoming minority in few years? Not gonna end well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_Exclusion_Act https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_Act_of_1917 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_Act_of_1924 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back-to-Africa_movement https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Colonization_Society

Andartes, even your comrade Tik-Tok can't save you on this argument. The economics of immigration is beyond clear. Immigrants are both beneficial and, admittedly, harmful towards the U.S. economy. They are beneficial through their tax payments on earnings, on purchases (sales taxes), on housing (property tax), on motor vehicles (registration fees), and so on. They contribute negatively by consuming many U.S. public services including the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, Earned Income Tax Credits, the Women and Infant Children (WIC) program, and Social Security. Nearly all generations of immigrants are a net cost to the United States economy because we absorb mostly uneducated people. However, Immigrants who have pursued higher education are a net benefit to the United States economy, even while taking into account public benefits (these immigrants are mostly ineligible for public benefits, anyway). The United States ought to be run like a business, like how banks hand out loans. If an immigrant is unlikely to contribute positively towards the United States, then he shouldn't be admitted. Culturally, I understand your argument, and so has the U.S. government for the past 243 years. We have a naturalization process. Though, I concede the process must be more rigorous if we're to maintain the values that distinguish us in this globalized age. I've seen the tests that are required to become a U.S. citizen, and it's fucking pathetic. Any autistic, brain-damaged 9-year-old can become a naturalized citizen of the United States. This process is in place so that the people who are admitted into my country have knowledge and understanding of America's founding values. Naturalization should constitute a two-part vetting process. For one, the immigrant should be able to demonstrate potential; and secondly, the immigrant should value U.S. heritage and uphold the duties and obligations all U.S. citizens have. There's a difference between culture and principle. People of all cultures are welcome, but of only one principle; that is, freedom and democracy. If this process is implemented, then immigrants entering the United States should, even while consuming public benefits, contribute positively towards both the U.S. economy and our diverse culture. Race has absolutely nothing to do with immigration, principle and potential does.

Thanks for sharing, brian. I'm actually very surprised of that analysis, which I find it pretty much appropiate. Overpopulation is clearly the most serious problem nowadays, and although he gives a "good" forecast, the next question to be answered is: will the Earth be capable of sustain another 3 thousand millions? If so, will it sustain us with the actual dreadful practices and consuming habits? And there is the trick. With the religion discarded as a big factor in overpopulation, will the governments do something to stop companies making people consumerist as hell? For me, the deep problem has always been the avarice culture that has got worse after the Industrial Revolution. "More and more and more, I just want more". Population is nowadays living for the present, spending shit like everything was infinite, never-ending. So it's really now a matter of change of culture...

Surprisingly a good point, I didn't know you talked sense xD. Jk, but yes you are correct. China however is already facing a demographic crisis due to its 1 child policy; fertility rates are already as low as Europe's and China's population will experience a constant decline after 2029. India will expand from its current 1.38 billion to around 1.65 billion in 2060 and then slowly decline, but the extremely low fossil fuel emission per capita there should negate the high population. There's also many sustainable energy efforts being done over there, and emissions are a mere fraction of Chinese emissions (though that is due to being a less developed economy). Africa on the other hand will have a huge population explosion, though will also remain relatively environmentally friendly due to its undeveloped economy and low emissions per capita (at least unless it catches up with the west). Africa had a mere 55 million people in 1600 AD, and 1.3 billion in 2018, but is estimated to have a population of 4-4.5 billion by the year 2100 AD bc people are banging like rabbits over there. That will be a massive population explosion and will have global socio-political ramnifications. By 2040-2050 or so, when Africa is as developed as USA/Europe/Japan today, we will see massive emissions from there (2.5 billion estimated population by 2050). India and China will also pollute a lot, but not as much as Africa.

Listen to Sean Spicer. He may troll 75% of the time, but he's given clear evidence above that immigration (skilled at least, I admit refugees are a net drain) is beneficial to America. Race doesn't and shouldn't have anything to do it. Values and skills are what matter. Only a very small minority of people are insecure enough to be worried about the "white genocide" conspiracy theory, and those people are actively hated in America if they speak their views in public.

For the last 60 years or so, greenhouse gases (released by fossil fuels etc. These can include CO2 and other gases) have led to the Greenhouse Effect, where the chemistry of these gases causes the earth to retain heat in the environment/atmosphere, just like a greenhouse retains heat and sunlight. The earth's temperature has been rising at a steady pace, and because of this, there are effects such as huge weather fluctuations (many places in the world are experiencing deadly heat waves), changing weather patterns (weather is deviating from the norm in many countries. It's not as bad as it'll be at it's peak, but be prepared for hell in 2050), sea level rise (melting ice caps due to the increased global temperature means that a lot of densely populated cities will be underwater by 2050/2100). There is also a lot of environmental degradation and mass extinctions of species, which is a slightly separate subject but still relevant. So overall, the Earth is going to rise by 4 C in the next 80 years if we don't heavily push for green technologies such as solar, wind, etc. Fossil fuels are the main contributors to global temperature rise. There's other components to climate change/environmental degradation/mass species extinctions as well, but these are some points about it. Philosophically, climate change may indeed only harm humans and other animals. But earth isn't just a rock. It is our home, a safe zone for the countless billions of species that have existed in the last 3 billion years. Earth is not just a rock, it is also the life that is on it. Otherwise, what is special about earth? Jupiter/Saturn are bigger, and mars is a rock planet just like the earth. Helping humans/animals is helping earth. Earth is our mother

I do actually believe it now But, I can't seem to find a reason to care, (Edit; I actually care so much, you'll find out at the end ) not being mean. Just looking at it from natures perspective. Within another 3 billion years, someother life will obviously evolve or be evolving, the planet itself might even be destroyed. So, again? Why fight against nature? It always wins and is always moving forwards and backwards. The Dinosaurs got wiped out by(Supposedly a giant rock floating in space) an event that can happen tomorrow and then a few other creatures evolved, and then we evolved and use them. We will get wiped out and something else will probably use us, or, we'll expand and move to other planets. Personally, I'd prefer to let nature take it's course and not interfere with it. If we don't die on this planet, we'll just die on another. I genuinely love and care for nature, that's why I'll let it do what it's going to do. It made the dinosaurs, it made the moon, it made the sun, it made us... And it'll make something else. Bit of a rant but still on track; Not even joking bro, The intelligence of dolphins and Octopuses are insane!!! They are almost like the humans of the sea tbh. So, let's say the sea levels do rise and it destroys humanity and leads to our extinction or we just hop, skip and jump to another planet. Octopuses and dolphins, without a doubt (And a few other sea creatures) will, most likely dominate the planet, especially if our sea levels do keep rising, which they are. And our temperature is rising, as it is. So the apes and chimps will probably losse their hair, die or evolve. Obviously this is NOT far fetched AT ALL! Dinosaurs lived on this planet around 66 million years ago. And then we evolved(We supposedly had hair like apes and chimps too, or at least something similar), stars appear and disappear in space, the sun is here, jupiter is here, we are here in a galaxy with millions if not billions of other solar systems. The fact that all that is real. Proves that nature/universe will always win, and the smartest sea creatures or land creatures (In my opinion I think the sea creatures will, makes perfect sense taking the sea levels are rising) will evolve and prosper. Either like us humans, or just live on the planet like the dinosaurs and the rest of the life before humans actually started to write. So, in a sense. (Extreme anyway) climate change activists are preventing change in nature and preventing other creatures from evolving. Although, in all fairness they can do what they want. Their life their choice. But for me, I admire nature and history, so I'll let it move and won't stop it in it's tracks. Plus, what if we did "Fix" climate change? All gone? All finished? Or the rock will change it's tracks again and keep moving forward regardless of what we do? I'll go with the last one, it's more logical. Actually just thought of this just now, it gave me a lil chuckle They're hugging nature so much, it can't breathe. I'm hugging nature so much, I'm letting it do what it is meant to do. "If you can't beat em, join em"
