You know Tito, I feel the same way. I always pictured the life of a believer as build on solid train tracks. They firmly know where they come from and likewise they firmly know where they are going. Life is predetermined and there is a lot of comfort in this. These tracks may be bumpy and curvy at times, but you can always clap your hands together and share your misfortune with a kind man in the skies who always has an ear for you.
For that I will always envy believers and I wish I could join this, but I cannot for the same reasons these edgy kids stated with their internet meme pictures, although I would never express my opinion in such a childish manner.
Being a non-believer, my life is not build on such a track. It's layed out in front of me in the shape of an endless plain and I can go into all directions, backwards even if I choose to do so. I will never know where this way takes me, yet I do know that it will take it's end in nothingness.
This makes my life lacking of purpose. I feel like an anonymous part of a biological mass, not better or of higher purpose than a sheep raised and fed to be slaughtered one day. I find myself asking what I am here for. I go to university, I go to work, in the evenings I play meaningless video games. I live a narcisstic life in which nothing has more value than me myself and my own entertainment, which eventually will make my legacy or the time I spend on this planet not of higher purpose than the one of said sheep, as I will leave nothing but my own flesh to rot.
There are possible answers to this, one of which being faith in a god as a means to give life purpose, yet this is not an option for me.
Also, I want to stress that I'm not really depressed about this. I'm fully aware that I'm living an incredibly privileged life, but this may be part of the problem why I can't take importance nor purpose in living it the way I do currently. Congratulations on having found god though, I'm sure it makes a lot of things easier.

God is basically Christianity's answer to everything science cannot explain. We can't explain it, so god must have done it.

If that's how you want to invoke your evidence for god, then god, and religion is an basically just scientific ignorance, that's is getting smaller and smaller and smaller as time goes by.

Personally i have no problem people believing god did everything, but it's the people who are ignorant, stubborn, and naive enough to place this belief so high that they no longer have curiosity for how it REALLY happened, THEY are the massive waste of a human beings.

You missunderstood me there. Obviously I didn't mean to imply that your whole life is predetermined and you can never go wrong. What I meant to say was that you know where you start and you know where to go in order to find your predetermind end. That is in heaven.
As for the rest of what you said, I think it's a bit narrow-minded on your part to exclude the possibility of all the things you state to exist in a society without god. In my immediate surroundings I know no one who is religious or believes in a god, yet the society I live in is far more healthy and less crime-ridden than you will find it in most places/nations of this planet.
A sophisticated society I believe does not need a god, but the individual may do because of the benefits of personal believe as explained already. If he's ready to give into it.

Its true, some societies, organizations, groups, states doesnt need God to function normal, but there will always be a tiny hole inside us that only God can fullfill. No matter how much money you make, number of army you lead, strong state you control you will feel that empty hole all the time. Something is missing right? Something you forgot about, or lost along the way on your life path maybe?

That is basically what I was saying. I don't have any higher purpose in my life, yet this does not make God any more real to me. To me it's just wishfull thinking, but please don't take this offensive now.

By the way, i've seen your ''crime-ridden'' enviroment. When i was about to leave Munich at night, at the exit of the city(some secundary road, not autobahn) i lost control(drifted) and car hit some small statue, god knows where that statue comes from and how i didnt see it. Tomorrow in Austria i recieved a call i have to pay for damage i made near Munich, i was surprised how the hell they find me, then i realized some german who had a house near that statue went out when he heard a noise and took my licence plate number, then he called cops and gave it to them, so they find me. So i believe you cant make mess in Germany as there will always be someone to ''snitch'' on you :-P Or was it because i am Russian? -.-

It's for the same reason you see Germans stopping at the traffic lights in front of the UK embassy in Berlin. The street itself is closed down to traffic so no car will ever pass there, yet the traffic lights are functioning and you will see people standing, not crossing the street when the red light is on.
People stick to the law, and in your case the law required that man to report the incident to the police.

The point is not God anyway, the point is this world and its people. I have very positive view on the world even there is many evil things happening. 1% good can beat 99% bad, remember that. When you get an F in school, got beat up same day by bullies, lose your lunch money, miss a bus, you dont want to go home as you know your parents are only fighting and you cant listen to that anymore, and your crush smile at you - you feel like in heaven and feel the power you can do anything, you already forgot about what happened to you. I used this example for kids because it is simple, you can change characters and situations but result will be the same. Bad, empty and ignorant people like unleashed are ruining this world, with they hate spreading everywhere, with their desire to destroy everything on their path. That occur when a person is unable to find a way from their grey situation. That doesnt mean God doesnt exist. Those people just use ''God doesnt exist'' tactic to mock and make jokes as they doesnt have anything else to do in their lifes.

You dont have to enjoy the fruits of Heaven, thats why God made Hell, its up to you to choose your actions, no one can force you to do things you dont like, there is no destiny, only your own decisions. Dont forget he made us and this planet, therefore he have the right to be involved in our lifes, or not to interfere, or even destroy us. It's what I see people do all the time. A natural desaster occurs, few days later some random anon posts a huge collection of facebook posts full of calls for prayer for the victims. The anons start a circle jerk to ridicule these people, yet I find myself fascinated by how easy they can make it for themselfs. Pray to God for the victims and feel good about yourself, as if you have truly done a good deed.

I don't envy them for their religion, just for the way belief enables them to walk through life with a conscience reminiscent of a child. To me as an outsider it looks as if there's less of a responsibility towards yourself in this. You obviously had some bad personal experience with religion, but for many people it seems to work out just fine. See Tito, or all those calling for prayer as mention before.
