Greetings everyone, after creating my first scenario thanks to the improved map maker, I wonder what was the general style of scenario gameplay that people enjoyed. For those who were active over the weekend, you probably played and/or saw me work on my first map call: Battle of the Five Armies. Last night, after a full legit playthrough as a new, non-beta map, I got a lot of mixed reviews for the map itself based around the skill and style that the map required. The current idea for the map is one side holds out until they get an endgame unit and automatically win. Some people liked this idea since it works well with the story and it seems fair based on units and events. Others dislike the style but like the map and the units used and would want to play the map just with a different objective in goal. This brings me to my question: what styles of gameplay do people like in scenarios? I hope to use this information to improve my current map and for when I make my own maps in the future.

Only minus in my opinion is that it is made on an actual map, not photo of geographical terrain.

I agree. It's hard to make fantasy map with general terrain since well, it's a make believe world.

"Hold until you win" maps too often devolve into wallspam and stack cancer, they can sometimes work but usually don't

Its not a problem, the game is fun. Just check the units again and calculate their price-to-power ratio, make sure strong units are not cheap (unless they are rare special event).
