As most of you know, India is the single large Afterwind country that hasn't been split. Countries like Brazil, China, Australia, U.S.A., and Russia have been broken into fragments. But that's not what happened to India, so it's the big prize for this game as well as real life, when Britain used to occupy it before the Gandhi helped declare independence in the late 1940's. Because of its immense size, there are many cities. But I tell you, they ALL have infantry, NOT MILITIA, and it is very expensive. That is why you must conquer the HIGH INCOME cities first. Most people take cities like Jaipur and Kanpur right after Delhi because they're closest to Delhi. But if you have air transports and bombers, WHY DO YOU GO THERE FIRST??? I will now give you the city names in income order (income displayed in parentheses are at 100% income, and when you first capture that city, you'll get this income/2). This is the order you must go through so that you can actually earn money trying to capture India. Now, you must take Delhi first, as it is the capital. Also, it has the HIGHEST INCOME of any Indian city. If you capture a city that is does not belong in one of your countries, you'll receive a MERE 10% INCOME. If you take the capital, the percentage of every city in the country will rise from 50% to 75% to 100% and beyond, advancing each and every week. The order is as follows: Delhi (+237), Mumbai (+235), Hyderabad (+150), Bangalore (+89), Kolkata/Calcutta (+81), Chennai (+79), Ahmedabad (+67), Kanpur (+53), Jaipur (+52), Nagpur (+41), Patna (+31), and finally, Guwahati (+21). Whole Country Bonus (when you capture all cities) is +343. For 100+ add city, there will be a slightly different order and income amount. There is Delhi (+214), Mumbai (+212), Hyderabad (+135), Bangalore (+81), Kolkata/Calcutta (+78), Chennai (+71), Ahmedabad (+60), Surat (+49), Kanpur (+48), Jaipur (+47), Nagpur (+37), Indore (+29), Patna (+28), Ludihana (+26), Guwahati (+18), and Kakinada (+10). Whole Country Bonus is still +343. With this newfound information, plan accordingly and get a little extra money so you won't get bankrupt trying to capture a neutral country (it is absolutely humiliating if you get bankrupt attacking something that can't attack you).

Helpful info: Take Pakistan first, then Delhi. Delhi is closer to Pakistan than Nepal or China.

Since I'm usually Europe, I never skip Pakistan from the western side, since it's easy to capture. I never skip Delhi when I try to go to China, either, since an enemy will likely capture Delhi, and I will be in big trouble, but not necessarily doomed. I do agree, however, that Nepal's weak, so I obviously capture Delhi before capturing Kathmandu. I almost never skip over important cities (whether they're high income, many reinforcements, or both) because each country left alone is a country another player can take, and if it's an enemy that does it, well it's not good for you. The only time you should skip large countries and go for the neighboring small ones first is 5k or 3k games. I do that on week 1. But on week 2, I immediately send units to attack the large country. If, however, I end up being China to start with, then I am usually using Sky Menace. When I use Sky Menace, I go from Chengdu to Dhaka (Bangladesh's capital) in 1 week, then go from Dhaka to Delhi in 1 more week. I can do that because my air units become faster with this strategy. You're still a rank 2. You got a lot to learn.

From europe you want to move troops from spain italy, north africa etc through egypt down the nile, then round the coast picking up coastal cities in saudi , united arb and oman, then move to india from there, while sending other big bulks from balkands and turkey through to the middle east (capture saudis capital this way) , and sending a third force from russia into mainland china.

It costs more to make two air transports full of tanks or possibly three than to conquer the closest cities

Well I rarely use tank-buffing strats in large maps, so I actually gain income buying air transports/sea transports and getting there.

You should already have transports by the time you get there. if not you should just use helis and an extra turn to clear the cities. OR if your from the east, take delhi, the Paki capital and sweep down into karachi and them take mumbai with ease.

One should not simply attack in order of the income. Personally, I use the following; Delhi, Ahmembadad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangaladore, Chinnai, Jaipur, Kanpur. Then I proceed to take all the other cities in no particular order.

If I come from Iran, all Ihave is one transport to take Islamabad, the unless I'm using blitz, those troops cannot reach Delhi the next turn. In the middle east, you want to spend as little as possible, and while taking India, taking Europe too. When you run out of money each turn from attacking Europe ad Indian cities, Air Transports aren't he first thing one would buy.

Nice thread here, and nice necro there chill, yea so many aw players dont know how to economise and locate where the income is particularly ina country before you secure all of it. when im pakistan in 10k i always go delhi and mumbai first, then secure the others. youve to be 100% efficient to make some countries work
