Expected behavior
When I enter 'Casual Games' lobby, I expect to see "Red Font" in the turn/time counter, letting me know i can take my next turn.

Actual behavior
When I play a "Promoted Game", "Red Font" is missing so not sure if i can take my turn.

Steps to reproduce the behavior
Start a "Promoted" Casual Game.
Log out, and come back for the next turn after 12/24/48 hours.
Observe font as the normal colour.

Information:
Browser: Chrome

Browser version: Version 54.0.2840.71 {yeah, i know, but i can't update it for some reason... and if that's the reason, ignore this bug report.}

OS: Stupid Win 10

The previous screenshot was the correct screen -- I.e. the console, where the errors will be that I need to see. Its just that the errors I saw couldn't have come from atWar, which made me think you were on a different site at the time.

What I need to see is the real error that's happening behind the scenes when you get to "error loading paths". So it would be like your first screenshot but at the right time & place.

I would suggest opening the console first, then in the same tab (because it will be attached to whatever tab you opened it from) go to atwar, load a map, get to the error loading paths thing, and then screenshot what's in the console at that point.

Sorry its a pain, but since I can't get the problem to show up for me, I don't know any other way to get the info...

This is going to sound strange, but are you sure you were on atWar when you took that screenshot?

The warnings and the error refer to script files which we don't have on atWar -- assert.js, util.js, promise_resolver.js, icon.js, ui.js, keyboard_shortcut_list.js, command.js, parse_html_subset.js, load_time_data.js -- we have never had any scripts with these names. Which makes me wonder, either you were on a different site, or... where in the heck could those be coming from?

Formerly, I was able to open the world map in MS Edge. I emptied the browser cache (possibly related?), and I no longer open any maps. I'd like to play another game.

Please use the format as modeled. If you want your appeal to be taken seriously, it helps provide mods with the needed info, and also lets them know it's not just complaining because your unhappy about a legitimate disciplinary action.

It doesn't. I was listening to Neil Kramer talk about this, and what he said made sense... in 50 years the news hasn't changed. News story one - terrorism or war, followed by story 2, some health care crisis, with the finale being a tiger cub being nursed by an alpaca (or some other feel good close). The IRA were the 'Fear Porn' then, along with STDs and lung cancer killing millions as the healthcare crisis.

Nothing changes... fear porn won't end until the masses stop watching the news and decide for themselves what is more important than fear/doom porn.

Try uploading the original world map background. Not a clone. Or you will always see the shadows. It's a bug but the best way around it atm is to just upload the original.

To my knowledge the sort-of shadow on the background image wasn't something that happened in silverlight's editor. Now I'm not sure if this was just something they wanted to add to HTML5's editor or if they just had no clue about it, either way if you want to remove that or whatever then i don't think others will mind since it was never a feature in the original editor.

I read your comment so out of curiosity I compared some maps created in Silverlight vs HTML5.... In Silverlight maps there are 2 sets of background images -- one does have the shadow border thing, the other does not. In HTML5 maps there are still 2 sets of background images, but both have the shadow border. I could understand keeping both backgrounds as like a before and after thing, so you'd always have the original to go back to when needed, but I'm assuming HTML5 putting the borders on both must be a mistake.

Anyway I never noticed this difference before, so thanks for that. I'm still not sure why we need the shadows so maybe I'll remove them completely, or maybe to be safe I'll just make it be on the 1 set like the old silverlight way.

For my own benefit --

Steps to reproduce:

1) Create a new map
2) Draw a border and assign a country to it
3) Save map and exit
4) Edit map again
5) Move border
6) Save map and exit. you should see the old border "shadow" by this point

It may be a bug on our end. Every time you save the map, in addition to the lines that make up the real border, it also draws a sort-of shadow right onto the background image itself. (Which seems odd to me -- I would think there are better ways we could handle that, but that's another issue). Anyway, the problem happens because our CDN, CloudFlare, has a pretty aggressive caching system which saves whatever version of the map background it happens to see first. Whatever changes you make in the future, it keeps sending back the same one unless/until it's cache gets purged.

A workaround for this is to re-upload the map background. However you might end up having to do this every time you edit the map, as the old version may keep showing up. I know that's annoying, but it does solve the issue in the short term. (At least it worked when I tested it -- using Chrome.)

I will code a permanent solution to this problem soon as I have some time.

Hmm, I haven't been able to reproduce the problem with any of those maps... they all open correctly for me.

When it happens, Is there perhaps another error message at the bottom in red text? If there is, maybe that would give me some better clue to go on...

Expected behavior
According to common sense with almost a decade of atWar gaming experience, and WD's (outdated?) battle spreadsheet (https://atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=39894&topicsearch=&page=1) if I send one more infantry unit to a city than the garrison of militia (f.e. 6 inf against 5 mil) I have a chance of success ranging from 89% to 97%, in theory (slightly decreasing with higher garrison count maybe?). This is all with no upgrades whatsoever, and assuming that the infantry units have 4 attack (default). Defense works well as far as I know, this bug refers to attack only.

Actual behavior
Despite of several tests (and hundreds of hours spent in atWar combat mechanism) my success rate in each of these battles is around 50%.

This is very odd, pointed out by Karlo, Jugers, Gust, myself and numerous other players with quite high elo and rank, in the last few days.

Steps to reproduce the behavior
Play my account or my alt account on the world map, try to expand with any units (the attachments are mostly tests with infantry but as I noticed it's similar with every unit in every map).

Sidenote: JUGERS2 player and his alt also have this issue, since about 1 month, like me.

Any other relevant information: The bug persists on Explorer, Edge and Firefox too, I have also tried on mobile (Android: OxygenOS 10.0.11) and it's the same, therefore since I'm experiencing this for about a month, I believe not only one browser version is touched. I gave the login of my account to someone trusted and he also experienced the bug. I have reset my upgrades for 490PC and the bug was not gone. It makes the game so unplayable that I did not test with anything else, only infantry against neutrals.

P.S.: Most of these tests were done with PD inf, however, picking no strategy, BLITZ or NC makes no difference so far. With Jugers we also discovered that tanks and bombers are weird too, but did not test it in depth.

Is this a serious bug report, or are you just trolling? I'm aware that before posting this bug report, you spent several days trying to convince people there was some conspiracy causing you to get bad rolls (and blaming me for it). Besides this you already have a long history of making up stories about things "Dave did" or things "Dave said", which never actually happened. Both of these facts together make me think you are probably just trolling. (I figure the probability of this to be about 80%)

That being said, I am aware of at least one other case where a player was getting impossible rolls. In that case he was getting rolls in a positive direction, i.e. he was winning battles that should have been mathematically impossible to win. So it's possible there could be a bug somewhere causing it (we all know there's plenty of bugs in atWar, so nothing surprises me), OR it could be -- more likely in my opinion -- some new kind of hack that I haven't been able to figure out yet. I've been looking into the latter possibility since the case I mentioned, and I've been logging extra information from each game in hopes of catching it.

So for the 20% chance this is a real report I'll leave it open... maybe it is related to the other case I mentioned. When I have some time I plan to go through the logs in detail anyway and see if I can figure out how the hack is done (assuming its a hack). Otherwise, if it is just a bug, then I'm sure I'll find it eventually, but it will probably be difficult since its so hard to reproduce. (For example, I have not been able to reproduce anything like this on any of my accounts, so either its very rare, or its specific to certain accounts.)

Well, it definitely looks weird. Whether its a bug or not, or maybe just a display issue, I dunno. I'll keep it open until I have time to look into it further...

How is it feels like being an allyfag and gang bang new players?

Most players know i always accept requests from lower ranks in the early game when i play world games... just kind of a thing i do cuz i think it's low conduct to gang up on new players. So not sure what to say... you got some bad info if you think i do this.

If i host a game, i usually have one ally, but so few players want this, it's hard to make these games. i'll only change the settings if players insist, or if i'm hosting on behalf of another player who wants particular settings.

So on both counts, you got some bad info ♥

That's a tough one... never once thought about an AW player in that way.
